Books by Sue Monk Kidd
The Secret Life of Bees
I read this last summer when my neighbor Mary brought it over. Wonderful book. Her first novel.
The Dance of the Dissident Daughter
I just finished this one. A lot to think about, and lot to work with. The Feminine Divine has been on my consciousness since I read The DaVinci Code a year of more ago. Actually it was there before when I read She Who Is. There is something deeply out of kilter in the Christian tradition – and it seems that the Spirit is blowing up a storm to force some balance.
When the Heart Waits: Spiritual Direction for Life’s Sacred Questions
This one looks like it might be worth a read… But searching it on Amazon brought up another one to look into…
The Mermaid Chair
I think my favorite line is in the prologue where the narrator makes the statement to the effect “I didn’t fall from grace. I dove.” Sue Monk Kidd hits it right on the nose with the idea that the same things can save us and damn us, at the same time.
